Summer camp is an annual opportunity and rite of passage for many children in this country, but sadly, not for all. Summer camp can positively impact a child's self-esteem by offering the opportunity to create friendships, learn new skills and foster talents, and develop self-confidence. In a world that can seem so challenging and unforgiving to so many children, receiving the gift of camp can mean the difference between feeling forgotten and feeling loved and valued.
Children in foster care, children with developmental disabilities, children whose families are living below the poverty level or are homeless, children whose families are touched by AIDS. These are the lives of children that can be immeasurably altered by your generosity. By sending one child to camp you will not only change a life in ways you'll never know, but you will allow a kid to be a kid without the burden of adult problems for one sweet week
Art camp, music camp, dance camp, science camp...the list goes on. The camps chosen for our beneficiary children will be determined on a child-to-child basis, depending on their current needs, but each camp chosen will be specific to that child and will be one full week of fun.
For $100, you can send one of these children to camp for a week. You can give them the best week of their life and the best gift they never dreamed they would receive...from a stranger. You can give them the chance to fit in for a week and make lifelong friends. You can give them love.
