For the Kid in All of Us held our second annual Backpack in the Park, a community picnic and backpack and school supply drive, on Saturday, July 28, 2007, from 4pm – 8pm at Magnolia Hall in Piedmont Park. We were thrilled to have ING return again this year as Presenting Sponsor.

Thanks to the generosity of our Patrons and Sponsors, the only requirement for admission was a new school backpack containing a preset list of items, or a gift card of $30 or greater value. The event was catered by Metrotainment Restaurant Group (Einstein’s, Cowtippers, and Joe’s on Juniper), with beverages provided by Georgia Beverage Association, Ciroc Vodka and Peroni Beer. The event featured activities for people of all ages, including inflatable jumping tent, music, and a mechanical bull!

It was a hugely successful event, with over 700 backpacks and gift cards collected for Atlanta Public Schools, City Schools of Decatur, and CHRIS Kids. Your donations will enable these children to start the school year off on the right foot. We will see you at Backpack in the Park 2008!
