Project Prom was a great success - a cocktail party and runway show to benefit Georgia's children in need. The For The Kid In All Of Us mission behind this event is to benefit our teenaged segment by giving them an opportunity to experience prom - something that could so easily be taken for granted, but is a pivotal time for them and for their self-esteem.
We have taken slightly used dresses donated by Becca's Closet and have refashioned them with the help of local designers, Vincent Martinez, Jason Bunin and English Design Lab, along with the Grady High School's Urban Couture Program.
Featuring music by DJ Vicki Powell and hosted by Atlanta radio legend Kaedy Kiely, the fashion show portion of this event is designed to show off these retouched dresses - the fruits of our labor. The dresses were modeled by the very students who redesigned them, along with our very special guest model, Miss Georgia, Christina McCauley. All makeup for the models was provided by Authentic Beauty. All dresses featured in the fashion show will be given to our teenage beneficiaries for their prom night.
