AID Atlanta Women & Pediatrics

AID Atlanta has been saving and transforming lives since its inception in 1982. The agency was founded as a grass-roots response to the devastating and fatal impact HIV/AIDS was having on the Atlanta community. AID Atlanta quickly began expanding to offer a broad range of services. The Women’s and Pediatric program is one such program dedicated to providing specialized case management, assistance and support to women and their children who are infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The unique needs of this population include financial, educational, medical, social and emotional issues that are specifically related to client, caregiver, and child care.


The Alcove

The Alcove Shelter provides residential services to youth ages 11-17 who are experiencing family crises, having difficulties in school (such as truancy or behavioral problems) or are runaways . The Alcove also provides long term shelter care and services for youth who have been removed from their home due to neglect, abuse or abandonment and who are pending appropriate placement or reunification with their family if deemed appropriate. The Alcove provides these shelter care services to both male and female youth and is located in downtown Monroe in a historic building on Church Street.


Camp Horizon

Since 1982, Camp Horizon has been changing the lives of over 500 children and teens who have been abused and neglected. What initially began as a summer weekend retreat 25 years ago has turned into year-round programs for children and teens that have been placed in the care of the state. Since its inception, Camp Horizon has inspired hundreds of children to believe in and create for themselves a new day, a better day, on the horizon.

Cool Girls

Cool Girls (CG) empowers under resourced girls to reduce cycles of teen pregnancy, and overcome barriers of racism and sexism, through a holistic approach. Our award winning after school programs help girls to achieve academic success and graduate high school. We have been a direct service agency in the communities where our girls live for 20 years. Today, we partner with Title 1 schools to provide motivation, encouragement, and reinforcement to help girls make smart choices that deter risky behaviors while giving guidance for positive transformation.

Lutheran Services of Georgia

Lutheran Services of Georgia is a 25 year old nonprofit organization, based in Midtown Atlanta, which directly serves children and families in need through several professionally staffed programs. These include adoption services; refugee resettlement; foster care; family visitation, disaster preparedness and recovery. Through these programs, children are able to thrive in a supportive family environment. In 2009 these programs served more than 3,400 people in need in metro Atlanta alone. This statewide agency serves thousands more people through offices in five other Georgia cities. Nicholas House

For almost 30 years, Nicholas House has kept homeless families together by providing a temporary place to live and addressing the root causes of their homelessness, so they never become homeless again. Since 1982 we’ve helped over 1800 families become self-sufficient, and ended the cycle of poverty for their children who make up 70% of our participants.

In 1988, a group of local citizens founded Our House, recognizing that the lack of affordable childcare kept many families from overcoming homelessness. In addition, shelter rules required families to leave early each morning and not return until evening, regardless of whether they had anywhere to go. Our House breaks the chains of homelessness by providing quality early childhood education and comprehensive support services for families who are homeless.


St Patricks

St. Patrick's Episcopal Church Malachi's Storehouse

Malachi's Storehouse, an outreach ministry of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Duwoody, has been providing emergency food relief along with loving encouragement to families in our community. We serve over 70 families each week and we have been in operation for over 20 years.
